To enter ISEI BSU, foreign applicants, citizens of countries with a visa regime of entry to the Republic of Belarus, should receive an invitation for study. List of countries for visa-free entry to the Republic of Belarus posted at the web-site of the/Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus or at a consular office of the Republic of Belarus in your country.

Procedure to receive a study invitation:

• submission an application for study and required documents
• consideration and expertise of submitted documents by the Admission Committee of ISEI BSU
• issue and approval a study invitation in the migration department
• if a study invitation is approved by the migration department an applicant will receive a study visa at a consular office of the Republic of Belarus at the place of residence

Education certificate consideration and invitation issue at ISEI BSU is on a fee paid basis .

To issue an invitation for receiving a study visa to arrive in the Republic of Belarus the applicants from Turkmenistan have to pass a remote interview to determine the level of Russian.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS

To receive an invitation for study at ISEI BSU and pass the pre-selection, foreign applicants, citizens of countries with a visa regime of entry to the Republic of Belarus, submit the following documents to international relations department:

• application form eng.; application form franc.;
• passport with a study visa of the Republic of Belarus;
• notarized translation copy of a passport in Russian valid for a study period;
• originals and notarized translation (into Russian) copies of education certificates with attachments (disciplines studied, grades);
• 6 photos 3х4;
• original and notarized translation (into Russian) copy of medical certificate issued by public health authorities of the country the applicant come from;
• original and notarized translation (into Russian) copy of HIV certificate;
• original and notarized translation (into Russian) copy of birth certificate;
• compulsory medical insurance policy
• for juvenile — birth certificate copy with a notarized translation copy into Russian

DOCUMENT LANGUAGE

Translation into Russian should be attached to all documents made in foreign language. All document translations, except a passport, must be notarized. Foreign applicants must do a notarized translation of a passport into Russian upon arrival in the Republic of Belarus.

DOCUMENT SUBMISSION

Foreign citizens from visa entry countries can submit document copies for issuing an invitation for study at ISEI BSU to international relations department with the help of a representative and by registered letter marked «Invitation issue» (Address: International Sakharov Environmental Institute of Belarusian State University, international relations department

Dolgobrodskaya str., 23/1, 220070, Minsk, Republic of Belarus «Invitation issue»).

PRE-SELECTION

International relations department specialists check submitted education certificates and make applicant pre-selection for study. It takes into account:

1) foreign applicant’s ability to understand (without any help) admission rules, fill out an application form, complete the necessary documents at BSU, etc.;

2) education level (necessary for the selected education program);

3) academic achievement;

4) the Russian language level.

SELECTION RESULTS AND INVITATION APPROVAL

If the decision is positive and education certificate is approved international relations department prepare and submit official invitation for study to the Migration department of Partizansky DDIA of Minsk to approve. If it is approved the migration department sends the list to a consular office of the Republic of Belarus at the place of residence of foreign applicant to issue a visa.  It is the basis to receive a study visa for foreign applicants, citizens of countries with a visa regime of entry to the Republic of Belarus.

Consular offices of the Republic of Belarus issue study visas. Consular fee for a study visa is paid by an applicant at a consular office of the Republic of Belarus at the place of obtaining a visa.

                                                     ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

                                                    Submit required documents:

• Pass a language proficiency interview (Russian or English).

To enter a Master’s course an applicant should pass a profile discipline interview

The Russian language interview is conducted on the specialties taught in Russian, the English language interview on the specialties taught in English.

Foreign applicant interview is conducted according to the approved interview schedule from July 1 to October 15.  

Language proficiency interview dates:

May, 2024: Monday – Friday;

June, 2024: 20 – 21, 24 – 28;

July, 2024: 1, 2, 4, 5, 23;

August, 2024: 27, 29;

From September 2024: every Tuesday, Thursday.

Foreign applicant enrolment to ISEI BSU is made on the results of the language proficiency interview, to a Master’s course on the results of the profile discipline interview.

Foreign citizens who failed the language proficiency interview can be enrolled to the Faculty of Advanced Training and Retraining  at ISEI BSU to study at the preparatory department.

If exams passed successfully (at the preparatory department) foreign citizens obtain a certificate which gives the right to be enrolled to ISEI BSU as well as to other universities of the Republic of Belarus.

• Make a contract and pay for tuition

(tuition fee is paid in Belarusian rubles at the rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus on the day of payment).

• Pass a medical examination at Student Polyclinic № 33

(Minsk, Surganova str., 45/4) and receive:

• Certificate for settling the BSU dormitory

(issued after passing a medical examination; compulsory if you live in the dormitory);

• Medical certificate

(issued in several days after passing a medical examination).

SETTLING THE DORMITORY

BSU has 8 dormitories for students. About 65% of the housing stock has 3-4 rooms with a shared kitchen and a bathroom. There are also block-type dormitories with a kitchen and a bathroom shared by two rooms.

The rooms of the BSU dorms have a bed, a chair, a writing table, a built-in wardrobe, and bookshelves.

Dormitory fees are about 35-50 $ per month.

If necessary all foreign students are provided with the dormitory.

You can apply for the dormitory at international relations department when submitting documents for the enrollment to the preparatory department, the first year of bachelor’s course, a master’s course or postgraduate course. Based on the application, the BSU student village (Oktiabrskaya str., 4, room 215) issues a contract for settling the BSU dormitory.

To settle in the dormitory you should provide the dorm commandant with the following documents:

• dormitory contract
• passport
• 3 photos
• medical certificate (to receive a certificate you should pass a medical examination at Student Polyclinic № 33, address: Minsk, Surganova str., 45/4, and receive

“Certificate for settling the BSU dormitory” issued after passing a medical examination)

• receipt of payment for the dormitory

When settling the dormitory you are provided with:

-card for temporary pass to the dorm

-bed linen (against receipt)

-room keys

-the 3^rd copy of a dormitory contract

It is possible to rent a flat in the city. Rental fee depends on conveniences in a flat and its location (200$ – 500$ per month).

REGISTRATION

ATTENTION: foreign applicant must provide international relations department with a passport to issue temporary residence during 10 days after arrival in the Republic of Belarus.

After signing a contract, paying for tuition and enrolment to ISEI BSU you need to apply for a temporary residence permit for a period of stay in the Republic of Belarus.

For this reason you should provide international relations department with the following documents

• application form (ask international relations department personnel);
• copy of notarized translation (into Russian) of a passport;
• copy of a study contract;
• copy of a medical insurance (except for citizens of Armenia, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan);
• copy of a residential rental contract (dormitory/flat);
• copy of a study visa (for visa entry countries);
• receipt of state fee payment.

Local department of migration and citizenship issues a temporary residence permit at the place of residence during 15 days. You can receive a passport with a registration only after providing a medical certificate.

ATTENTION: when changing the place of residence (address), you need to apply for re-registration at international relations department during 3 days from the date of signing a new residential rental contract.
