Project № 2240116044 «School of environmental education for implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in the Republic of Belarus» was completed by International Sakharov Environmental Institute of Belarusian State University (further – ISEI BSU) in December 2023 with active participation of UNESCO chair «Radiation and environmental management» jointly with associated schools of UNESCO in the Republic of Belarus and advisory support of the National Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO, administrative support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus.
Project goal is to hold a School of environmental education for lecturers of higher education institutions, teachers, schoolchildren, students of gymnasiums and colleges.
On December 15, 2023, within the project «School of environmental education for implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in the Republic of Belarus», the workshop for students of general secondary education institutions was held at «Minsk City Educational and Health Center «Leader».
On December 20, 2023, to enhance teaching staff competencies of secondary and higher education institutions within the project, the round table «Environmental education in the CIS countries» was held with the participation of UNESCO chairs operating in the Republic of Belarus as well as UNESCO chairs from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan.
On December 22, 2023, during the project implementation in the educa-tional institution «Republican Center of Ecology and Local History», lecturers gave open lectures for schoolchildren to build environmental knowledge.
On December 27, 2023, in International Sakharov Environmental Insti-tute of Belarusian State University within the project, a seminar for methodologists of the departments of natural-mathematical and technical activities in the international and regional cooperation as well as coordination of methodological activities of state educational institution «Minsk State Institute for Education Development».
Our lecturers are leading scientists-experts in environmental education conducted master classes on the peculiarities of teaching environmental disciplines in secondary school.
The methodologist of the highest category of International Sakharov En-vironmental Institute of Belarusian State University took part in the seminar.
Training methodological pictures and video materials on current environmental problems were provided to the participants.
High assessment to the participants, aspiration to hold such events regularly were noted at closing of workshops.

The project implementation contributes to increasing specialized methodological competence of teachers, developing strategy and tactics for environmental education of schoolchildren of the Republic of Belarus, creating introduction mechanisms of environmental fundamentals into educational process.
