The opening of the 11th International Olympiad on environmental safety took place at ISEI BSU

     On April 25, the opening of the 11th International Olympiad on environmental safety took place at ISEI BSU.

Teams of higher education institutions from different regions of Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan participate in the Olympiad this year. The team of the Republic of Belarus and the team of ISEI BSU traditionally represent Belarus at the international level. The Republic of Belarus team is formed following the results of the republican round of the Olympiad. The participation of 21 teams shows the young people concern about our planet destiny, the student interest in environmental problems and their solution.

     International jury will estimate the results of teams’ performance. The jury members are Tatyana Avgusmanova, Deputy Executive Director of the V.I Vernadsky Foundation for educational projects, PhD in Pedagogy, a member of Scientific Council on the Problems of Environmental Education under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Education (Russia); Violeta Chernaya, PhD in Geography, Associate Professor of Medicine of Catastrophes and Emergency Medical of Ryazan State Medical University named after academician I.P. Pavlov (Russia); Ekaterina Kukharuk, Doctor in Agricultural Sciences, Head of International Affairs Department of Institute of Pedology, Agrochemistry and Soil Protection «Nicolae Dimo» (Moldova); Ivan Russkikh, Head of Research laboratory of educational institution «the Republican Center for Ecology and Local History» (Belarus).

     Intellectual student competitions have been held at higher education institutions in the territory of the Republic of Belarus, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Kazakhstan since the day of the first Olympiad in 2007. Four out of ten international student Olympiads were held at ISEI BSU.
