On April 2, celebration of spring – Navruz was held within «Minsk sitting room» series organized by the faculty of advanced training and retraining. On this day foreign students together with their teachers, friends and guests gathered again in the Institute’s library to talk about the holiday that is celebrated from March 19 to March 22 and marks the beginning of New Year in many countries.
Vetoshkin Alexei A., Deputy Director for Ideological work and Putik Vladimir S., Dean of Advanced Training and Retraining Faculty greeted and congratulated the students of the faculty.
«It has become a good tradition not only to tell our students about holidays and traditions of our country but also to honor customs and talk about holidays that are important for the representatives of other cultures» – Vladimir Stanislavovich marked.
Siyamak Shahab, Professor, Doctor in Chemistry, Head of Environmental Chemistry and Biochemistry Chair of ISEI BSU and Dr. Alipoor Hossein Naserali, Head of the department of the Republican Scientific Practical Center of Mental Health were among the guests of the event. They also congratulated all the participants and wished good health and achievements. Dr. Alipoor noted that every Navruz is a rebirth and hoped that this year our students would open a new happy page in their life.
Students from Iran and Turkmenistan told about Navruz and celebration traditions in their countries. They presented traditional dishes, demonstrated decorations, interior items and the food served at a festive dinner that symbolizes health, wealth, luck, love, wisdom, and rebirth. Everything that people wish each other on this day.
The highlight of the event was a musical and dance gift from the group 9-24/MED and traditional homemade cookies that Maysa Dortmyradova (group 10-24/MED) baked to treat her classmates and teachers.
