On January 14, 2022, the thematic performance «Кола зімовых святаў» of «Мінская гасцёўня» series was presented for foreign students of the faculty of Advanced Training and Retraining. The lecturers of the Supplementary Education Chair and the faculty staff told about (in English and French languages) the history of Belarus, Belarusian cuisine, traditional winter holidays, rites, their origins and significance in the modern life of Belarusian people. They also showed a video “How to cook draniki”. Foreign guests were introduced the rite of “Kalyada”, the chair lecturers sang Christmas carols.
Maskevich S.A., Director of ISEI BSU, Putik V.S., Dean of AT&R faculty greeted the students and thanked them for their curiosity about the history and culture of Belarus, wished to achieve great success in studies, and hoped the preparatory course would become the first step to obtain education in Belarus. ISEI BSU and Belarusian State University allow continuing education (Bachelor’s degree, Master’s course, Postgraduate course).
The students admitted such meetings allow not only enhancing friendship and mutual understanding but also the positive image of the Institute in Belarus on the whole.
