Representatives of the BSU Sakharov Moscow State Economic University, as part of the delegation of the Belarusian State University, visited Moscow

From June 27 to July 1, 2021, 3rd-year students of the Faculty of Environmental Monitoring of the Sakharov Moscow State Economic Institute of the Belarusian State University Artem Ivanov and Alisa Selezneva, as part of the delegation of the Belarusian State University, took part in events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian State University, which were held in Moscow.

The visit was organized in order to strengthen academic and historical ties, common traditions in education, science and youth policy of Belarus and Russia. The delegation visited the grave of Vladimir Ivanovich Picheta, the first rector of BSU. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Belarusian Diaspora, and the clergy. The BSU delegation visited the Skhodnya railway station near Moscow. Here, on October 11, 1943, in the evacuation, the Belarusian State University resumed the educational process. Moscow State University. Lomonosov University provided educational and scientific equipment, textbooks and visual aids, scientific literature. Classes were held for 300 students in six faculties, the educational process was provided by 90 teachers. The building where the classes were held now houses the Russian International Academy of Tourism (RMAT). In 2011, a memorial plaque with a corresponding record of the events of 1943 was installed on the building. Students and staff of BSU laid flowers at the historical site as a sign of gratitude to teachers and students for preserving the university in difficult wartime.
