Training online visit on the project ERASMUS КА2 «Setting peer review instruments and goals for medical (health) education (SPRING)»

On June 8-9, 2021 in order to implement an international technical assistance project Erasmus КА2 «Setting peer review instruments and goals for medical (health) education (SPRING)» (hereinafter —  the project), registered by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus on July 27, 2020 No. 2/20/001096, took place project online training visit for the staff of the International Sakharov Environmental Institute of Belarusian State University (further – ISEI BSU).  The purpose of the visit was to train the ISEI BSU staff for the participation in international accreditation procedures. 

Prior to the date of visit, the working group of the project developed a training self-evaluation report (SER) on the ISIE BSU activities. The requirements for this report were previously developed by the multinational peer review board (further – MPRB) and presented to all participating universities of the project. These requirements included 12 standards with check-points for each one, working language is English. 

Within two days (08.06.2021 09.06.2021) members of organizational committee interviewed target groups: deans, members of Institute Council, working group of the project and SER developers, students, graduates representatives, representatives from teachers, department staff and curriculum developers, as well as organized an online meeting with employers.

Program of training online visit consisted of 9 sessions: 

  1. Meeting of MPRB with administration of ISEI BSU. 
  2. Briefing with the project team and the developers of the self-assessment report. 
  3. Meeting with students. 
  4. Meeting with graduates representatives. 
  5. Meeting with deans and members of ISEI BSU council. 
  6. Meeting with academic staff of ISEI BSU. 
  7. Meeting with curriculum developers. 
  8. Meeting with employers and social partners. 
  9. Discussion of the results. 

On the part of the ISEI BSU the following participants took part in the online visit: Buchenkov I.E., deputy director for educational work, Sysa A.G., dean of the Faculty of Environmental Medicine, Alekseichik E.V., head of the International Relations Office, Chemeneva N.N., deputy of chief accountant. 

The experts were professors and associate professors from among the staff of universities that are part of the project consortium, namely: 

  • Prof. Karolina Lybomirova (Sofia, Bulgaria);
  • Prof. Linas Šumskas (Kaunas, Republic of Lithuania);
  • associate professor Virginia Salaru (Chisinau, Republic of Moldova) 
  • associate professor Pirdara Nazadze (Tbilisi, Georgia) 

When summing up the results, the experts shared their impressions. 

The final conclusion by the expert commission will be presented in writing, as required by the principles of the international accreditation procedure. 

In the process of announcing the final assessment, the experts expressed a positive impression of ISEI BSU in accordance with the requirements.
