ISEI BSU has started the implementation of the project 609528-EPP-1-2019-1-GE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP “Definition of tools and objectives of expert assessment for medical education (healthcare) of the international technical assistance program Erasmus+”

In the Republic of Belarus in 2020-2022, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, an international technical assistance project “Defining tools and objectives of expert assessment for medical education (healthcare)”will be implemented. The international coordinator of the project is BAU International University, Batumi. The project is implemented by a consortium of 14 partners from 7 countries: Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Lithuania. On behalf of the Republic of Belarus, the educational institutions “International State Ecological Institute named after A. D. Sakharov” of the Belarusian State University and “Grodno State Medical University” participate in the project. The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus coordinates and monitors the implementation of the project.

The project corresponds to the priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Belarus in the field of health protection, set out in the State Program “Public Health and Demographic Security of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2020”, and also corresponds to the key priorities for the development of higher education of the Republic of Belarus, defined in the State Program “Education and Youth Policy” for 2016-2020.

The goal of this project is to improve the quality of medical education in the partner countries and to contribute to improving the quality of medical education in the rest of the former Soviet Union. The objectives of the project are: to establish a Multinational Peer Review Board (MSEO); to create and build a sustainable system of continuous peer review of academic programs and processes, as well as administrative policies, procedures and actions in the partner countries and beyond; creation of the annual scientific and practical journal “Expert Assessment in Medical Education (Healthcare) for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECOMED-EECA)”; strengthening the internationalization of universities in partner countries and developing the capacity of teachers and administrative staff.

The implementation of this project will make it possible to systematize, structure, optimize and standardize the tools used for assessing the quality of teaching and to develop new and more effective tools for assessing the quality of teaching staff based on positive examples from world practice.
