On May 29, 2021, a festive event of the National Committee of Belarus for UNESCO affairs held in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of BSU at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus; Irina Starovoitova , First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus; Andrei Korol, Rector of BSU; Maria Germenchuk, Deputy Director for Research, Head of UNESCO Chair «Radiation and Environmental Management» of ISEI BSU, and other representatives of UNESCO Chairs of higher education institutions of Belarus took part in the event.
Vladimir Makei reminded that according to the adopted solution of the 40th Session of UNESCO General Conference (November 2019), the 100th anniversary of the BSU foundation has been enlisted to the UNESCO calendar of memorable dates for 2021. The Minister recognized the long and effective activity of UNESCO Chairs in BSU, promoting science education, and providing research cooperation development to obtain scholarships, and grants for students, lecturers to participate in the international educational and research projects.
Peter Wells, Chief of Higher Education Department of UNESCO congratulated the participants of the festive event via video message.
