“Regional Postgraduate Educational Courses of the IAEA on Radiation Protection and Safety of Ionizing Radiation Sources” are being held at the ISEI BSU

“Regional Postgraduate Educational Courses of the IAEA on Radiation Protection and Safety of Ionizing Radiation Sources”, organized with the technical support of the IAEA, are held on the basis of the ISEI BSU for the tenth time. 12 students from 5 countries of the near and far abroad (the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan) will receive an additional qualification “Radiation Safety Specialist” within the framework of training in the speciality of retraining 1-33 01 71 “Radiation protection and ensuring the safety of ionizing radiation sources”. The courses run from January 25 to July 2, 2021.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) started its cooperation with the ISEI BSU as a regional training center for Eastern Europe and Central Asia for conducting courses in Russian in 2001. Over the entire period of joint actions, 165 specialists from 20 countries of Eastern Europe and the CIS were trained. The opening and implementation of the educational program in the speciality of retraining 1-33 01 71 “Radiation protection and ensuring the safety of ionizing radiation sources” contributes to increasing the prestige of the ISEI BSU and strengthening the authority of the Republic of Belarus in the international arena, especially in the CIS countries and Eastern Europe – as a training center for the countries of the region in the field of radiation safety.
