Since the first days of October, the library of the ISEI BSU has opened its doors in the renovated interior. As part of the modernization, the technical equipment of the library was improved, modern library furniture was purchased. The library space is organized in a new way: a conference area for events with multimedia equipment; a reference and information area where computers with Internet access are located; a comfortable reading area; and an exhibition area. Automated workstations have been created for the library staff at the new Department of Reader Service. Despite significant external changes, the focus is always on the BOOK!
In the reading room of the library, new exhibitions are organized:
“Long-livers of the book fund”, where visitors are invited to get acquainted with educational and scientific publications on biology, botany, ecology and medicine, published in the XVIII-XX centuries;
“Andrey Sakharov – the personality of the epoch”;
“Publications of scientific and educational literature of the staff of the ISEI BSU”.

The library of theISEI BSU is part of the library and information complex of the Fundamental Library of the Belarusian State University.
Today, the library offers a wide range of information resources. This is, first of all, literature on physical media, the fund of which is 33,465 publications. The fund of periodicals, which includes 24 titles of newspapers and magazines, is replenished annually. An important component of the library’s collection is the publications prepared by the faculty of the Institute. For the high-quality implementation of the educational process, the institute’s website regularly publishes up-to-date information on the availability of educational and methodological literature for disciplines in the educational programs of training specialists at the ISEI BSU.
The library of the institute provides access for teachers, postgraduates, undergraduates and students to the electronic resources of the Fundamental Library of the BSU. The library staff places electronic versions of printed publications of the institute, electronic educational and methodological complexes (EEMC), materials of collections of scientific conferences of the institute in the Electronic Library of the FL BSU.
By providing free and unrestricted access to information for students and teachers, the ISEI BSU library contributes to the educational process. So, during the 2019-2020 academic year, more than 2,500 visitors used the library’s services.
The staff of the library (head – Sechko Ekaterina Vasilyevna) is always in a creative search: they organize exhibitions, hold thematic meetings and excursions, design photo zones, create comfortable conditions for their visitors.
We are sure that the library of the ISEI BSU will always be one of the most productive parts of knowledge management!
