On May 23, 2019, the 19th International Scientific Conference “Sakharov Readings 2019: Environmental Problems of the XXI Century” was opened at the ISEI BSU, where more than 300 undergraduates, postgraduates and scientists from 15 countries of the near and far abroad will discuss scientific reports and offer optimal solutions to certain environmental problems.
The participants of the conference were greeted by the Director of the ISEI BSU, Professor S. A. Maskevich, as well as invited guests of the event: O. K. Baranovsky – Head of the Department of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus; E. V. Kuznetsova – Head of the Main Department of Environmental Policy, International Cooperation and Science of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus; K. V. Kozadaev – Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education of the Belarusian State University; Antipenko O. N. – Head of the Department of Scientific Support and International Cooperation of the Department for the Elimination of the Consequences of the Chernobyl Disaster of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus; Denisov A. P. – General Director of the unitary enterprise “Coca-Cola Beverages Belarus”, who announced a new project of his enterprise “Good String Bag”. The first “Good string bags” were shown to the forum participants for the first time today by the students of the ISEI BSU.
The opening of the international conference was supported by the presence of diplomatic missions in the Republic of Belarus: the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany – Peter Dettmar, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan – Hakdod Mahmadsharif Mahmud, as well as representatives of foreign missions in the Republic of Belarus – Armenia, Georgia, Turkey. The conference is attended by members of the CIS Executive Committee headed by Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Agybay Dinkenovich Smagulov; members of the International Board of Trustees of the ISEI BSU; members of the Public Council of the basic organization of the Commonwealth of Independent States for environmental education; representatives of the Belarusian NPP and Rosatom. Scientists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation and Moldova are working with us online today.

(Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna, Russian Federation), Leon Fuks (Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology, Warsaw, Republic of Poland), Mirko Barz (HTW Berlin, Berlin, Germany) Philippe Baveye (Université Paris-Saclay, Paris, France), Tchaikovsky A. I. (National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Minsk, Republic of Belarus). Thomas von Woedtke (Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology, Greifswald, Germany).
On May 23-24, 2019, the sections and round tables of the conference will work in the following areas:

Not only did the forum participants watch the “Fashion Show” today, but in the second half of the day they were presented with a new project of the Rosatom State Corporation – cinema-talk “Have you noticed how the planet changes?» The guests of the conference were introduced to the films from the Wild Edens series, which demonstrate the fragility of the ecosystem and the importance of each of us participating in saving our planet. The host Yegor Danchenko organized a discussion and quiz on international environmental issues with the participation of the Institute’s students.
To the attention of the conference participants! All registered reports are designed and published in the form of a collection of conference materials in three parts. The materials were transferred to the RSCI.
