On November 28-29, 2019, as part of the work plan of the Public Council of the Basic Organization of the CIS member States for Environmental Education for 2019, a practical round of the IX International Environmental Olympiad of CIS Universities was held at the Taraz State University named after M. H. Dulati (Taraz, Republic of Kazakhstan), organized by the ISEI BSU and the M. H. Dulati TarSU.
The official opening of the Olympiad was held on November 28, 2019. M. N. Sarybekov, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Rector of Taraz State University named after M. H. Dulati, and I. E. Buchenkov, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor, Deputy Director for Educational and Educational Work of the ISEI BSU, addressed the participants of the Olympiad final with a welcoming speech.
Five teams participated in the practical round: the national team of the Republic of Belarus, the International Sakharov Environmental Institute of the BSU (Minsk, Republic of Belarus), Taraz State University named after M. H. Dulati (Taraz, Republic of Kazakhstan), Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic), Ryazan State Agrotechnological University named after P. A. Kostychev (Ryazan, Russian Federation).
The practical tour began with the presentation of their business cards by the teams, where the jury members were shown videos about their hometown, university, and team. The most intense dynamic and bright moment was the protection of projects. Yuri Pasechny, Head of the Department of Environmental Regulation of the Department of Ecology for the Zhambyl Region of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted the creative approach of the teams to perform this task of the Olympiad. All the teams in their speech reflected the direction of the activities of their educational institutions. The participants of the teams focused on the environmental education of the younger generation, who think about ecology from a young age.
According to the results of the theoretical and practical rounds of the international stage of the Olympiad, presenting the best environmental project, the team of Taraz State University named after M. H. Dulati took the first place, the team of the Republic of Belarus took the second place, the team of the ISEI BSU took the honorable third place.
The anniversary X International Environmental Olympiad of Universities of the CIS countries will be held in 2020 in the Republic of Belarus, at the ISEI BSU.
