Meeting of the Public Council of the basic organization of the CIS member states for Environmental Education

On May 22, 2020, a meeting of the Public Council of the basic organization of the CIS member states for environmental education was held online at the ISEI BSU.

The Chairman of the Public Council of the basic organization, Director of the ISEI BSU, Professor S. A. Maskevich addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcoming speech.

The meeting of the Council was attended by representatives of the Russian Federation: Dzyatkovskaya E. N. (Institute of Educational Development Strategy of the Russian Academy of Education), Chernaya V. V. (Ryazan State Medical University named after Academician I. P. Pavlov of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation) (the report was voiced by Germenchyk M. G., Deputy Director for Scientific Work); from the Republic of Kazakhstan participated Dlinmbetova G. K. (L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University), Turekeldieva R. T. (M. H. Dulati Taraz State University); from the Republic of Moldova, Kuharuk E. S. (Institute of Soil Science, Agrochemistry and Soil Protection “Nicolae Dimo”); from the Kyrgyz Republic was present Ordobaev B. S. (Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University).

In accordance with the agenda, interim results of the work of the basic organization of the CIS member states on environmental education were heard: on the preparation of a collective monograph “The meaning and meanings of sustainable development in the content of academic disciplines” and on the development of a “Conceptual and terminological dictionary of environmental education for sustainable development”. Information was also announced about the following events: the International scientific and practical online Conference “Green University-University of the XXI century”, dedicated to the scientific and information exchange of Kazakhstan and foreign scientists and practitioners in the field of greening education, as well as the model of the “green” university (L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University), the International Scientific and Methodological Conference “Environmental Education and Sustainable Development. State, goals, problems and prospects” (ISEI BSU), about the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Economics. Ecology. Security (ESS, Topola Belgrade, Serbia-2020)” (the collection of conference materials includes 70 articles, including the Republic of Belarus-1, the Republic of Kazakhstan-9, the Republic of Armenia-1, the rest from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Serbia (Ufa State Aviation Technical University).

The participants of the meeting provided more detailed information on further activities within the framework of the Work Plan of the Public Council basic organization, including holding the 10th International Environmental Olympiad of universities of the CIS countries (this year the Head of the State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia will present a team led by Chernaya V. V., Associate Professor of the Department of MC and SMP), holding an International Summer School in the period from 02.06.2020 to 18.06.2020 in an online format (on the basis of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University). The main goal of the International Summer School is mutually beneficial cooperation, the introduction of innovative methods and the search for new effective ideas in the field of ecology and environmental education, the expansion of professional contacts between speakers from Kazakhstan, Russia and Europe. Within the framework of the school, lectures, seminars, master classes, trainings, competitions of eco-projects and drawings will be held.

In the final part of the meeting, the participants noted that during the year, networking and exchange of experience in methodological work are carried out, and a high level of publication activity is maintained. They stressed the importance of the topic of “Green Universities” and proposed to develop a draft integrated standard (ISO 9001 + ISO 14001).

As a result of the meeting, the work of the basic organization of the CIS member states on environmental education was recognized as satisfactory. The participants of the meeting expressed their interest in further development of cooperation and expansion of inter-university relations in priority areas within the framework of the activities of the Public Council.
