ISEI BSU invites you to take part in the world-wide action “Earth Hour”!

Earth Hour is an international event, during which the World Wildlife Fund calls for turning off lights and household electrical appliances for one hour as a sign of concern for the future of the planet. At the same time, the lights of the most famous buildings and monuments of the world go out. The campaign will be held in Belarus for the 12th time. The purpose of the Earth Hour campaign is to draw attention to the need for a responsible attitude to nature.

Last year, more than 2 billion people from 188 countries took part in the campaign. Belarus did not stand aside. So, only in Minsk, the lighting of such iconic objects as the National Library, The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater, the Belarusian State Philharmonic, the National Art Museum, the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, as well as the lighting of the Central Department Store, the shopping center “Capital”, the hotel “Belarus”, etc. was turned off.

Since this is a voluntary action, people decide for themselves how many and what electrical appliances they will turn off, and the city authorities initiate the shutdown of the illumination of city objects.

The organization of the campaign in Belarus, with the permission of the World Wildlife Fund, is engaged in the partnership “Green Network”. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus and the Minsk City Executive Committee are assisting in the campaign.
